Not until 25 years into my career as a hairstylist and salon owner did I have my first experience with the power of hair additions and wigs. About 10 years ago I had a young stylist who worked in my salon that would come to work looking completely different every day. Of course the clients loved it and wanted to try it. We ordered a few clip in pieces from Hairuwear and they were a big hit. Then, on a whim, I ordered a collection of Raquel Welch wigs. Our first clients were golfers who loved the fact that they could golf all day then hop in the shower, put on a wig and be ready for dinner.
 
Our salon is in the resort town of Naples, FL so we see a lot of active women in a more mature age range. We also see a lot of thinning hair. When the word got out that we had wigs we also began to see women who were going through chemotherapy. It is so gratifying to be able to help someone not only look better but also feel better about themselves during such a trying time. As a result of our work with cancer patients, I began to volunteer for the Look Good, Feel Better program and am now the area trainer in Naples.
 
I sold my salon back in 2006, but then purchased my current salon in 2011 and named it after myself ‘Ladonna Roye’. Recently I added two stylist/wig fitters to my team, Dodi Fisher and Dawn Mincey. They are as excited about wigs and hair replacement as I am! Thanks to my team business has increased 200% this year! Because of this success, I am planning to double the size of my salon to include two private fitting rooms and more display areas with an emphasis on helping clients with medically related hair loss.
 
I am now entering my 36th year as a hairstylist, Dodi has 35 years of experience and Dawn has 26 years of experience. At a point in our careers where many stylists burn out we are more excited than ever to come to work! The support and training we receive from Hairuwear has enabled us to help our clients look and feel their best.
