Use a blow dryer on a low setting to re-direct the fibers. Take your time and move the hair in multiple directions until the part line is more visible. A little spritz of water ahead of time will help. Put on a headband while the fiber is cooling. Once completely cool use hairspray or styling products to set the part the way you like.
Approach this like you would training wheels. First, wear it with a cap or head band so it feels secure. Then wear it alone and use a couple of bobby pins to clip back bits of the topper as you would your own hair. Pull out some of your own hair where possible. With longer toppers you can put in a braid or incorporate into a style.
Take the topper to your stylist so that they can thin out any bulk and shape the style to your specifications.
Be sure to shake and run your fingers through the topper before trying it on. It may be that the fibers just need to be redistributed and fluffed. Don’t be afraid to use a volumizing product or a hot tool on a low setting.
The clips are designed smaller so the topper lays flatter on the head. Lightly teasing/back combing your own hair before attaching will help to improve the grip of clips. You can also spray the clips with hairspray or texturizer but nothing that adds shine or oil. Press the clips down and then up into the hair. Be sure to secure the front clip first then attach the side clips second and at the same time.
Brush in a little dry shampoo, but remember: your topper is new, and with a day or two of wearing, the shine will lessen.
Tru2Life synthetic fiber looks and feels like real hair. The texture is light, soft and lustrous without being shiny, plus it’s heat-friendly! Straight styles can be curled and curly styles can be straightened using your flat iron, curling iron or blow dryer. Pictured colors may vary slightly from the actual color.
